Oil mist separation – downstream of Oil & Gas plants

In power plants and refineries, the oil mists of gas / steam turbines, gearboxes, diesel engines and compressors are sucked in to allow the oil to return to the plant.

Oil Vapour Extraction

The side channel blowers are used in suction to convey the oil mist through the separation chambers of a filter, which collect the oil particles which are then discharged or reintroduced into the system, returning clean air to the environment.

Remediation of contaminated sites – downstream of Oil & Gas plants

It is often necessary to improve the soil condition on Oil & Gas plants by: eliminating and / or reducing the pollutants released into the subsoil during processing.

Remediation of soil

The side channel blower is used in compression to induce the air to pass through the ground through an extraction well while a second blower sucks in the volatile pollutants bringing them to the surface through a second well leading them to the blast chillers.

Wastewater treatment

FPZ side channel blowers are used in the water purification process, in traditional activated sludge plants or in systems with membrane bioreactors i.e. MBR (Membrane Biological Reactor) and SAFF Submerged Aerobic Fixed Film reactor).

1. Oil separation

The oil separation, or degreasing process, aims to remove the excess of oils and fats from the water. The air is blown from the bottom of the tanks through porous diffusers. The emulsified fats, pushed towards the surface, are discharged into a collection well.

2. Biological oxidation

In the biological oxidation phase, the air blown through porous diffusers provides the oxygen that degrades the organic substances present in the wastewater.

3. Air-lift

The air generated by the blower feeds the air-lift pump, used for lifting and recirculating water with mud or sand.

Injection of chemicals

Dosing pumps are used to inject chemicals into the water, used in fracking processes, capable of eliminating limescale deposits and encrustations on the pipes; avoiding inefficiencies and unplanned stops due to breakdowns or breakages.

Water treatment in cooling towers

To increase the productivity of industrial plants, the water present in the cooling towers is treated thanks to the use of dosing pumps.

Reduction of corrosion and limescale deposits

The dosing pump is used to inject chemicals, such as corrosion inhibitors (e.g. bicarbonates) to neutralize acidity, limescale inhibitors (e.g. phosphoric acid) to prevent contaminants from forming limescale deposits.

Boiler water treatment in refineries and petrochemical plants

The metering pump is used for the dosage of chemicals necessary for the treatment of the water in the boiler, useful for the prevention of damage and for the protection of the boiler.

1. Corrosion reduction​

The pump doses chemicals (hydrazine and ammonia) to eliminate erosion, corrosion and the accumulation of limescale inside the boiler.

2. Reduction of fouling phenomena

In addition, the metering pump is also used to inject trisodium phosphates, for pH correction.

3. Disinfection

The pump doses chemicals such as sodium hypochlorite or benzene.

Gas odorization systems

The pumps are used to dose odorants into natural gas.

Dosing of odorant in natural gas

The pumps are used to dose the odorant in the natural gas. The pump is controlled by software which, based on the request of the control unit, sends to PLC the information necessary to increase or decrease the quantity of odorant to be injected.

The presence of odorant in natural gas, which by nature is odorless, allows it to reach the necessary safety standards.

Combustion of fuel

The fan is used in petrochemical plants and refineries to convey the air into the combustion furnaces.

Constant air supply

The fan is used to suck in the right amount of air at the environmental conditions, bringing it to the ideal pressure and temperature to allow the ovens a regular and uniform combustion of the fuel.

Removal of fumes

The fan is used to produce a negative pressure capable of removing the fumes from the combustion furnace and conveying them to the chimney.

Our solutions

Arivent fans suitable for air treatment for fuel combustion work at high pressure, high temperatures and in explosive risk areas. They have ATEX certification and comply with the API 673 standard.
