Through the performance test it is possible to check the performance of the flow rate, static pressure and power of the machine. The values are measured by differential manometers (Magnhelic) positioned at the suction and delivery of the fan test duct. The pipes must be complete with fillet straightener, fittings at the fan outlets and calibrated diaphragm. By following this procedure, the dynamic pressure from which the air speed can be calculated and consequently the flow rate of the fan is detected. The power, on the other hand, is obtained from the electrical panel or with an amperometric clamp. With the performance test it is also possible to detect: rotation speed and air density.
In total, 4 sessions are performed (each consisting of 16 measurements), for each required point, and the collected data are entered into a software that brings back the values to the customer’s working conditions, creating the curve with all the working points within which it is possible to identify the contractual point up to the tolerances.
The flow rate and pressure values detected by the measurements and recalculated according to the contractual conditions are shown on a graph. The interpolation curve must pass through the contractual point with a tolerance of 2.5%. The power values detected by the measurements and recalculated under the contractual conditions are shown on the same graph. The interpolation curve must pass through the contractual point with a tolerance of + 3%
At the end of the performance test, which generally lasts 1 week (between set-up and test), a certificate will be issued showing the measurements made, the values obtained and the flow, pressure/flow and power curves.
